Science Cafés are public events meant to educate attendees about scientific topics.  They take place in casual settings such as pubs and coffee houses and feature engaging conversations with scientists on a particular topic. Organizers are responsible for publicizing the event, circulating flyers, and inviting attendees. For more information, please see information from Sigma Xi

The POLY division provides $200 of financial support for polymer related Sci Cafes across the US. This funding can be used for refreshments, and supplies for presentation, with other items considered on a case-by-case basis.

Examples of polymer-related topics for Sci Cafes:

• How polymers change the clothing you wear
• How your health is helped by polymers
• How polymers help clean up the environment
• Good food, great polymers
• Other Ideas?  These are just examples. . .
